2024 Conyers Mixed 11s

2024 Schedule!

Sunday’s Schedule!

The Conyers Mixed 11s will take place from Friday 12th – Sunday 14th January, at CIS Sports Field in Camana Bay, with games taking place on Friday evening and all-day Saturday and Sunday. The Mixed 11s serves as a traditional introductory tournament for new players to the sport of Gaelic Football. If you have ever wanted to see what the fuss is about and give a new sport a try, the Mixed 11s is the social and fun tournament to do just that. It also serves as the curtain raiser to the Gaelic Football season in Cayman and is our annual corporate Gaelic Football tournament. The deadline for Mixed 11s player sign-up is Wednesday 10th January and the schedule will be released on Thursday 11th January once the teams and pools are finalized. The companies taking part in 2024 are listed below:

The modified rules of Gaelic Football for the Mixed 11s are as follows:

  1. Games will be 7 minutes a half with 2 minutes for half time.

  2. Each team must have at least 5 ladies on the field at all times. Of the 5 ladies on the field, 1 must be a back, 1 must be a midfielder and 1 must play forward. There are no restrictions on the fourth, fifth or any additional ladies on the field.

  3. Scoring will be modified as follows:

‐ Overs scored by female players are worth 2 points and goals are worth 4 points.

‐ Overs scored by female rookies are worth 3 points and goals are worth 5 points.

‐ Overs scored by male rookies are worth 2 points and goals are worth 4 points.

Rookie players are defined as players who have never played Gaelic Football and will wear tape as provided.

  4. All players (men and ladies) cannot solo/carry the ball for more than 15 yards or be in possession for the time it would take to travel 15 yards. Measurement will be at the referee’s discretion.

  5. Goalkeepers must be men. Goalkeepers cannot pass the 22 yard line. Kick outs can be from either off the ground or out of the hand but cannot pass halfway.

  6. Referees will be strictly monitoring the tackling of ladies by men. No physical contact will be allowed. Again this will be ruled at referee’s discretion.

  7. The ball can be passed back over the half way line but scores can only be scored from inside the opposition half.

  8. Ladies can pick up the ball off the ground. Men must rise the ball off the ground.
